In 2023, our founder traveled for Umrah for the first time, alongside family. It was, by every measure, a life-changing trip — but it was also an eye-opening one. Booking hotels, coordinating flights, and arranging ziyarah meant piecing together a dozen different vendors, with little guidance and even less attention paid to what the trip was actually for.
That gap stayed with us. Umrah is one of the most spiritually significant journeys a Muslim can make — and yet so much of the planning around it treats it like any other vacation. We noticed this especially for students of knowledge, whose journeys deserve to be unhurried, guided, and rooted in intention rather than logistics. We knew we wanted to bridge that gap.
Then, around 2026, our founder had the opportunity to visit an orphanage in Kenya. Seeing the level of poverty and struggle those children faced firsthand changed something in us. We knew that whatever we built next couldn't just be a business — it had to try, in some small way, to bring real change. With the guidance and support of our beloved teachers, and the duas of our parents, Niyyah Journeys began to take shape.
Niyyah Journeys is built on a simple belief: business and charity don't have to live in separate lanes. We work to keep Umrah packages affordable for the Ummah at large, while weaving sadaqah into every single trip.
Here's how it works — each group traveling with us is given a specific fundraising goal for sadaqah. When the group reaches it, they're rewarded with a special incentive along the way, like a shared steak dinner in Umrah. It's a small thing, but it turns fundraising into something communal and joyful, rather than just another ask. Funds raised go on to support causes we care deeply about, including initiatives for orphan care abroad.
We shared this vision with Amax Travels, and alhamdulillah, they were fully supportive — allowing us to partner with them to bring Niyyah Journeys to life. We're deeply grateful for that partnership and everything it's made possible.
Our vision extends beyond Umrah. Over time, we hope to bring the same care and intention to other meaningful Islamic travel destinations — including Turkey, Palestine, and Oman — building a business that keeps giving back with every journey we lead.
